Her story may be different than that of most authors, though it may be very much the same. Her love for books and the written word became clear early in life, though her first attempt at writing a novel or children’s book wouldn’t come to fruition until much later.

As early as fourth grade, Teresa’s love for reading became clear, and in the years to come, she became an avid book reader, more and more fascinated by the written word, captivated by novelists such as Steven King and Anne Rice, her favorite poet and author Edgar Allan Poe, and children’s literature writer Lewis Carroll, just to name one or two.

​

It seemed she was drawn to themes of the mystic, worlds of fantasy and the supernatural, which sparked a passionate interest in mythology, ancient cultures, and supernatural horror. It was in those serene moments, searching for, then sitting and being immersed in a story, when reading and writing became her refuge. She began writing poetry, composing her own short stories, and imagined someday writing a fictional novel entwined in murmurings of non-fictional prose. She imagined her story would be a supernatural love story written within themes of the mystical macabre and immersed in an ancient air of days that spun into being in some distant era from long ago. Though anything more than that was still unseen and undreamt.

It wasn’t until she became a Christian believer that her unimagined story began to emerge and make sense, when she was inspired to incorporate Biblical undertones and spiritual realms within a compilation of unique characters immersed in serene moments of intrinsic thought and chilling events.

​

With a passion for the literary word and a love for educating, Teresa Marie began attending a local community college in her hometown in New York until she and her husband moved to Colorado, where she attended Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado, in pursuit of a degree in English Literature and seeking licensure for a career in Elementary Education. Having been introduced to such incredible authors as Lois Lowry, Karen Hesse, and Kenneth Grahame, these authors and their works became her muse, passion, and inspiration in seeking this new profession and life path. Thus, she began homeschooling her children full-time, which proved to be an incredibly successful endeavor and an experience that would touch her life and shape the lives of her children forever.

​

So then, it wasn’t until after each of her children graduated college and began their own careers that she was lent the time, and thus the opportunity, to begin and eventually write the novel she had always dreamed of writing. For she had a story awakening within her that needed to be told.

​

One particular Sunday message inspired her to be bold in writing the tale that had been held in her heart for many years, and once it had begun, it poured out onto pages as a narrative that she believed would intrigue the heart and mind, spark one’s imagination to ask the questions that hearten the prospect of what exactly designates the physical and spiritual realms, and encourage a belief in a power almightier than ourselves.

​

While immersed in imagining and writing this trilogy, Teresa has scripted other passionate works as well; in addition to two completed novels, her repertoire consists of many prologues, poems, short stories, and several children’s books…all yet to be published.

​

Early in 2026, Allure Books & Co. was established with the hope of advocating and promoting these works so that one day they would be bound in print and brought to publication for enthusiastic readers to enjoy.

​
